Update on Carlos Mieses
1/12/10
Dear Youth & Young Adults in Greater New York Conference:
Just a brief note to request your prayers, all of your prayers, on behalf of one of our young adults, Carlos Mieses. Carlos fell while skiing on Sunday and broke bones on both legs and hip. He had surgery yesterday for over 6 hours. I was there with his parents, family members, a few close friends, and two pastors, when the surgery was completed. The surgeon said, the operation had been successful, he was able to fix the broken bones.
Just this morning, the Doctors thought necessary to do another procedure on Carlos. I have spoken with the family several times today and just a few moments ago, Carlos’ father asked me to request that we specifically pray that Carlos regains consciousness. His vital signs are good, he is stable, yet he is still unconscious since the surgery.
Carlos Mieses is a member of the Weeks Spanish Church in the Bronx, he has been a member of the Adventist Youth Ministries Audio Visual Team for seven years, he is the son of Alberto Mieses, one of our Literature Evangelists here in Greater New York and the Head Elder at the Prospect Spanish Church.
Let’s pray that Carlos regains consciousness and recovers soon; we serve a powerful God who is able to do this and much more for Carlos and for us. Carlos’ family is at the hospital, let’s keep them in our prayers also.
